Plan and install electrical and mechanical systems within buildings
On a building services engineering technician apprenticeship, you’ll supervise the installation, commissioning or servicing of environmental technologies on construction projects, most likely in the role of assistant project engineer, assistant engineer or building services site technician, or assistant project manager, project manager and site manager at an SME building services engineering specialist contractor. Your main tasks will include supervising the installation of environmental technologies into buildings, assisting design teams with building services engineering solutions, controlling health and safety, and recording, controlling and reporting on progress. This apprenticeship will include the knowledge and skills required to achieve technician status.
Duration: 32 months
Relevant school subjects: Science and DT
Entry requirements for the building services engineering technician apprenticeship: Five GCSEs, including maths, English and a science
Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced) – equivalent to A-levels
Potential salary upon completion: £27,000 per annum
