As a cleaning hygiene operative apprentice, you’ll ensure a safe and hygienic environment for service users, staff, and visitors. Cleaning hygiene operative apprentices maintain hygiene in places with heavy footfall: offices, hotels, or healthcare settings like hospitals and care homes, where you might focus on infection control and sanitation to prevent the spread of diseases. Healthcare operatives adhere to national standards, while commercial operatives follow specific regulations and client contracts. You’ll regularly interact with service users, staff, contractors, and visitors, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety. As a cleaning hygiene operative apprentice, your responsibilities will include strictly following health and safety requirements and maintaining your tools and equipment. Job titles may vary but typically include care hygiene operatives and cleaning services operatives. Working independently or as part of a team, you might need to work shift patterns or unsociable hours.
