Food and drink advanced engineer apprenticeship

Deliver efficient, effective and high performance food and drink production processes and systems

Combining engineering competence with an understanding of the principles of food safety, science and technology, your focus as a food and drink advanced engineer will be on developing and designing improved production systems, which are safe to operate and environmentally sustainable. During the food and drink advanced engineer apprenticeship you’ll train in the use of advanced production and processing techniques and learn project management skills to deliver new projects on time, to budget and at the required quality. You may undertake this role across food and drink organisations, and will work closely with a range of other engineers, functions and managers in your own company and interact with external equipment and ingredient providers. You’ll also contribute to business strategy and performance as a team leader. On completion, you’ll achieve a degree in food engineering.

 

Duration: 60 months

Relevant school subjects: Food technology, science and maths

Entry requirements for the food and drink advanced engineer apprenticeship: Three A-levels, and five GCSEs

Achievement upon completion: Level 6 (Degree)—equivalent to a bachelor’s degree

Potential salary upon completion: £38,000 per annum
