Manage a site, supervise a team, and maintain the health and safety and security of personnel and resources
During the horticulture or landscape supervisor apprenticeship, you’ll oversee work in public parks and gardens, green spaces and historic gardens, private gardens and estates, or in production nurseries and retail outlets. Much in the same way as the operative apprenticeship, you’ll specialise in either soft-landscape or hard-landscape. The horticulture supervisor apprenticeship focuses on horticulture, primarily plant propagation and plant growth. Landscape construction focuses on the installation of features and structures, application of landscape materials, and supporting site management. As an apprentice, you’ll learn to manage a site, supervise a team, and maintain the health and safety and security of personnel and resources. Working and learning in horticulture and landscaping is rewarding, offers a diverse range of employment opportunities and includes a range of skills that are transferable into other industries following further studies.
