Support compliance activities and liaise with regulators
Well designed and enforced regulation plays a vital role in improving the way markets work for the benefit of business, employees and citizens. Both the public and private sectors require compliance officers. In the public sphere as a regulatory compliance officer, you may work within local authorities such as environmental health, fire safety, licensing or trading standards, or central government agencies such as the Food Standards Agency or the Health and Safety Executive. In private organisations, you’ll support compliance activities and liaise with regulators, as well as monitor and oversee the wider supply chain to ensure product and process quality and safety. During the regulatory compliance officer apprenticeship you’ll assess compliance with laws and standards, work with organisations to achieve compliance, conduct risk assessments, compile reports following inspections or audits, and deal with and investigate complaints.
