Organise and coordinate a network of interconnected businesses in the provision of goods and services to the end customer
The supply chain is the movement of products or services from the supplier to its customer and is particularly important in fast moving consumer goods, such as food and drink, retail or consumables, where products tend to be high-volume, with a fast turnover and frequently purchased. On the supply chain practitioner—fast moving consumer goods apprenticeship, you’ll work in one or more supply chain functions. Your typical duties could include forecasting customer demand as a junior demand planner, liaising with the factory’s schedule of production as a junior supply planner, processing orders as a customer service operative, or working with hauliers and distribution centres as an assistant transport planner. You’ll develop an understanding of the entire supply chain, become responsible for your impact on each function, and strive to deliver the best value.
