Design, install and service systems used to heat large buildings

A building services engineering craftsperson undertakes the installation, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and decommissioning of large-scale engineering systems that are used for heating workplaces such as those found in industrial and commercial buildings, including office blocks, factories, schools and hospitals. These engineering systems operate by moving temperature-controlled water around the inside of buildings, providing heating and cooling, and utilise fossil fuels and sustainable energy systems. You’ll develop a detailed knowledge of systems and train to work to specifications and instructions. You will liaise and work with other trades and suppliers, solve problems, maintain standards, and contribute to configuration.
