Monitor and control the costs of and contracts arising from construction projects

A construction quantity surveying technician monitors and controls the costs and contracts for construction projects. Based on-site or in your employer’s office, you’ll assist senior colleagues with the budgeting of construction projects, ensuring that costs are kept under control at all times. This will require you to record and report on income and expenditure, select and manage specialist contractors, and value progress on construction projects. You may also need to assist with legal and contractual issues on a construction project, so an ability to maintain accurate records is essential. An analytical mind would also be beneficial, to help come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.
