Footwear manufacturer apprenticeship

Footwear manufacturer apprenticeship

Produce children’s, ladies’ or men’s footwear within a factory or smaller studio production environment

A footwear manufacturer works in a small-scale operation making specialist or bespoke/personalised footwear, through to working in larger factories with extensive teams and departments, usually producing larger runs of the same piece of footwear. Regardless of which methods the employers use, you’ll develop knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end process of how to manufacture a piece of footwear. During the footwear manufacturer apprenticeship you’ll learn to work quickly and accurately using hand tools, technical equipment and machinery. You’ll need to consistently and accurately follow your employer’s specifications for each piece of footwear within agreed timescales and to the required quality standard. You’ll need great attention to detail and quality, and be ever mindful of health and safety.
