Live event rigger

Install infrastructure for the scenic, lighting, sound and audiovisual elements of a live event
A live event rigger sets up the stage, lighting, sound and audio-visual elements of a live event, safely and according to technical plans. As an apprentice, you’ll work on indoor and outdoor events, often at a fast pace and under pressure. You’ll develop the skills and knowledge necessary to set up at exhibitions, conferences, concerts, sports and other events, under the direction of a superior but often on your own initiative. Of particular importance are an in-depth knowledge and the ability to practically use and inspect rigging equipment, especially lifting equipment, structural systems and essential ancillary equipment. In doing so, you’ll be capable of undertaking and documenting risk assessments and adhering to safe systems of work while accurately identifying and reducing risks.
