A wall and floor tiler operates in domestic and commercial properties undertaking all types of wall and floor tiling. The work is varied, as tilers utilise and install a wide range of ceramic and natural stone tiles using different techniques. As an apprentice, you’ll work both internally and externally, individually and as part of a team. You’ll develop a good knowledge of tiles, backgrounds and ancillary products, and understand and comply with statutory, safety and environmental requirements. You’ll be a good problem solver and communicator, and be able to interact effectively with colleagues, clients and associated trades. You must also be able to interpret drawings and extract relevant information to the task in hand. You must be able to recognise and achieve high levels of quality in their finished work.
Duration: 30 months

Entry requirements: Depend on employer
Achievement upon completion: Level 2 (Intermediate)—equivalent to GCSEs
Potential salary upon completion: £19,000 per annum
