Lovell: Waleed Azam

A desire to embrace new challenges

Waleed Azam is an experienced multi-skilled apprentice with a varied and challenging career in site management at Lovell

Before starting with Lovell, Waleed was unemployed and lacked direction. He had already gained qualifications in maintenance operations and carpentry, but aged 24, he took the opportunity to move from a career in the construction trades to site management, and became a management trainee.

This involved completing a BTEC national award, before progressing on to an HNC in construction and working in a range of departments to gain a fuller understanding of the business.

Waleed was then appointed assistant site manager and has not stopped learning; he is currently studying for an NVQ level 6 in construction site management. Waleed has a desire to help others and the business as a whole, while developing himself as a professional.

He continues to demonstrate dedication and a drive to succeed in Lovell and is a loyal and dedicated employee who wants to do his absolute best for the company. Waleed says: “I’ve worked on a wide variety of sites across the eastern region, both on refurbishment and new-build projects. What’s helped me more than anything is a desire to embrace new challenges, and how I have sought any opportunity to broaden my knowledge and experience.”
