Manage structures and components destined for a construction site
A construction assembly and installation operative deals with structures and components that are manufactured in factories and then transported to the construction site, ready for location, connection and finishing. During the construction assembly and installation operative apprenticeship, you’ll develop the skills and ability to work with materials such as concrete, timber, or modular and portable buildings, across projects such as small local or large-scale developments. You’ll be responsible for the assembly and installation of manufactured components to an agreed design specification and tolerance. This includes safe handling, moving, installing and finishing to specification and within deadlines. You’ll spend a significant amount of time working outside on a construction site, in a range of weather conditions.
