Work with children, leading day-to-day practice
On an early years lead practitioner apprenticeship, you’ll become an effective role model of play-based learning, as you support others to develop their own practice. You’ll take the lead for care, learning and development of all young children within your care, with the ability to adapt to individual needs. In your daily work, you’ll interact with children aged from birth to eight years, families, practitioners, professionals and appropriate agencies. Areas you could look to explore can include communication and language, planning and assessment, forest school, physical activity and nutrition. Other job titles can include pre-school leader, pastoral care manager and community nursery nurse.
Duration: 24 months

Entry requirements for the early years lead practitioner apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely A-levels or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience. You’ll need to undertake the Disclosure and Barring Service process and provide the result
Achievement upon completion: Level 5 (Advanced)—equivalent to a foundation degree
Potential salary upon completion: £24,000 per annum
