Build and manage parks, gardens, green spaces and grounds
The broad purpose of the horticulture and landscaping technical manager apprenticeship is to develop, build and manage parks, gardens, green spaces and grounds such as business parks, schools and retail sites. You could find yourself planning the site, engaging with clients, customers and visitors, and managing the finance and income generation. In your daily work you’ll gather information about the site including the history, environmental factors such as soils, habitats, designations, usage, design condition and infrastructure. You’ll plan the future development and maintenance of the site, ensuring its original use, such as a stately home or castle, is mapped against future plans, such as a tourist attraction.
