Support activities that drive the demand for a product or service

A marketing assistant supports activities that drive the demand for a product or service through awareness raising and perception building. The role is found in every sector and industry, and can sit within a specific agency that provides marketing services and advice to external clients, or within an internal marketing team. During the marketing assistant apprenticeship, you’ll be responsible for delivering day-to-day marketing activities across a multitude of platforms, channels and systems that are essential to the marketing function and activities of the organisation. You’ll interact with a range of internal colleagues and external marketing suppliers. You’ll be responsible for coordinating and delivering specific marketing activities, which could include content creation, market and customer research, attending exhibitions and events, monitoring campaign analytics and collecting data, and marketing administration, such as managing the supply of marketing literature, tracking marketing expenditure, supporting the procurement delivery of work by external and internal marketing suppliers.

 

Duration: 18 months

Relevant school subjects: Business studies and English

Entry requirements for the marketing assistant apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £24,000 per annum
