Provide policing and investigative activity

Non-Home Office police forces include the Royal Navy Police, the Royal Military Police, Civil Nuclear Constabulary and Ministry of Defence Police. During the Non-Home Office police officer apprenticeship, you’ll provide policing and investigative activity, responsible for protecting your organisation and that of the public. You’ll need to deliver law enforcement, assessing situations and taking responsibility for appropriate actions to manage them. Tasks may include patrolling, both on foot and by vehicle; conducting risk assessments; ensuring safety of those involved; preserving crime scenes; conducting arrests, interviewing individuals, victims, witnesses and suspects; preparing and presenting reports; and assisting other law enforcement agencies. You may find yourself working unsociable hours, with weekend duties and outside in all weather conditions.

 

Duration: 24 months

Entry requirements for the Non-Home Office police officer apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely A-levels or equivalent qualifications or experience. You will also need to meet the security vetting requirements

Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree

Potential salary upon completion: £27,000
