Paralegal apprenticeship

Provide legal support, including admin tasks, carry out research and draft legal documents

Paralegals perform different functions across organisations, but generally they will carry out legal work under the direct supervision of a qualified practitioner. During the paralegal apprenticeship, you’ll learn to provide legal support through managing data and records; reviewing documents; drafting and producing legal documents and standard forms; assisting with the inception, progress and completion of client files; carrying out research; handling confidential and sensitive information; understanding and utilising basic financial information; and communicating with clients. You’ll have strong communication skills, both written and oral, as you establish professional relationships to achieve client and team objectives. Opportunities for progression include the chartered legal executive apprenticeship.

 

Duration: 24 months

Relevant school subjects: Business studies

Entry requirements for the paralegal apprenticeship: Two GCSEs, ideally in maths and English, and two A-levels at grade C or above

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £22,000 per annum
