Ensure that digital data and voice networks operate correctly
Found in the telecommunications sector, during the network engineer apprenticeship you’ll be responsible for broadcasting digital voice and data services via a mobile telecommunications network, delivering the service to specific corporate, public, emergency services and military organisations. You’ll set up, configure, maintain and monitor radio networks to deliver the service of the radio telecoms networks, with objectives in terms of service, coverage, quality and availability. You’ll find yourself working in an office, on site or field-based, using your initiative and with minimal supervision.
Duration: 24 months
Relevant school subjects: Science and DT
Entry requirements for the network engineer apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or experience.
Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels
Potential salary upon completion: £25,000
