Help people and businesses move their belongings safely and efficiently

As a removals operative apprentice, you’ll learn how to pack, move, and deliver furniture and other items for homes, offices, and businesses. You’ll work closely with customers to make their moving experience smooth, professional, and stress-free.

During your apprenticeship, you’ll gain skills in lifting and handling techniques, loading vehicles, using moving equipment, and protecting items during transport. You’ll also learn about customer service, planning routes, and working as part of a team on-site and on the road.

You’ll need to be physically fit, reliable, and polite, with good communication and timekeeping. The role involves travel, working in different environments, and sometimes staying away from home.

With experience, you could progress to team leader, move coordinator, or transport management roles. You might also choose to specialise in international moves or fine art removals.
