“Working to keep public and private spaces and properties clean and habitable, for the benefit of all who use them”
Cleaning and environmental service professionals are at the forefront of ensuring a hazard-free environment for all. This intermediate apprenticeship covers cleaning and support services, and local environmental services. If you opt for cleaning and support services, you’ll work as a cleaner, hygiene operative or similar role, at a hospital, school, factory or office, to name a few. The local environmental services option is neighbourhood-focused, which will see you learn cleaning and horticultural skills, such as hard and soft landscaping and grounds maintenance. You’ll work in settings such as parks, cemeteries and crematoria, public rights of way, countryside recreation sites, and open spaces around people’s homes and council buildings.
