Ramsdens Solicitors is strengthening its commitment to developing the next generation of legal professionals by expanding opportunities for apprenticeships alongside its traditional trainee routes.
The Yorkshire-based firm has announced that four trainees have successfully completed their training contracts and have been offered permanent roles, while a further nine will be starting their journey this September – including five joining through the graduate apprenticeship pathway.
Apprenticeships at Ramsdens combine real-world, on-the-job training with academic study, giving aspiring solicitors the chance to earn while they learn. The graduate apprenticeship programme takes around 30 months to complete and is designed to provide practical experience across different areas of law, ensuring that apprentices develop the skills needed to thrive in their careers.

Among those celebrating their success is newly qualified solicitor, Niamh Docherty, who began her career with Ramsdens and has now joined the Family Law team. She said:

Ramsdens’ two training routes – the traditional training contract and the graduate apprenticeship scheme – reflect its commitment to offering flexible pathways into the profession. Many of the firm’s current partners began their own journeys as trainees at Ramsdens, demonstrating the long-term career opportunities available.
