The RHS School of Horticulture has been at the forefront of horticultural training for over 100 years. As an apprentice, you will learn about the science, art, and practice of horticulture in the setting of a a world-class RHS Garden.
You will work alongside our knowledgeable, skilled and experienced staff in an RHS Garden, gaining hands-on skills, on rotation in different garden areas. You will also study at college to develop, enhance and deepen your understanding of horticulture. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will, cultivate and maintain formal and informal garden areas, and learn how to be environmentally aware, and use tools, techniques and machinery that will equip you for life in the industry.
This is a full-time work-based training programme: 37.5 hours per week, with a working pattern of 5 days out of 7. Weekend and evening work will be required occasionally. This position requires you to travel to and from College for lecture blocks (which are five days long – Monday to Friday, and take place five times per year).
We offer apprenticeship at each of our RHS Gardens Bridgewater, Harlow Carr, Rosemoor, Hyde Hall, and Wisley.
