“Laying, repairing and maintaining gas services and main pipes, as well as installing plumbing and heating systems”
The gas industry apprenticeship covers distribution and installation, with a broadness that caters for many different roles. As an intermediate apprentice in network construction operations, you’ll focus on laying, repairing and maintaining gas services and main pipes in the gas transmission and distribution network. The advanced apprenticeship offers the opportunity to take this further and work on more complex jobs. The other advanced apprenticeships focus on the installation of plumbing and heating systems and appliances. Some roles will be broad, meaning you’ll work across the overlap between plumbing and heating, with a greater emphasis on the range of installation and maintenance activities. The advanced apprenticeship in gas heating and energy efficiency concentrates on gas installation and maintenance. There is a focus on the provision of energy efficiency advice to consumers.
