The hospitality management apprenticeship was developed to provide a career route into management for those working within the hospitality sector. As a higher apprentice, you may work in any one of a number of roles across many different establishments, from hotels and restaurants to backpacker hostels or self-catering accommodation. You could find yourself working for a large chain or a small, independent business. This apprenticeship covers various management roles, including front office manager, who has regular contact with guests, welcoming and registering arrivals, answering queries, taking bookings, preparing bills and taking payments. You will need to have excellent customer service skills to help provide a welcoming and pleasant experience for customers.
Duration: 12 to 36 months
Relevant school subjects: Business studies
Entry requirements: Experience of working at a supervisory level
Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree
Potential salary upon completion: £30,000 per annum
