The intelligence operations apprenticeship is designed as a route into employment in intelligence operations for HM Forces and related defence and law enforcement agencies. As an apprentice intelligence operator, you’ll train to support the tactical decision making of those managing assets in the field, at a time when the effective use of intelligence is becoming increasingly important, not just within the military, but to a wide range of organisations involved in defence, security, and immigration and border control, and also in the prevention of transnational crime and cyber crime. In this role, you’ll comprehensively collect and collate data from a range of sources, both human and electronic, in order to provide detailed assessments. You’ll provide written and verbal briefings, including accurate and timely intelligence recommendations, to senior level commanders involved in strategic and tactical decision making.

Duration: 12 to 36 months

Relevant school subjects: ICT

Entry requirements: Number of entry restrictions relating to age, nationality, residency, gender, medical and physical fitness

Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree

Potential salary upon completion: £18,000 per annum
