“On the professional services apprenticeship, you’ll work in tax, auditing or accountancy, preparing financial accounts, tax returns or reporting on internal financial controls”
The higher apprenticeship in professional services will take you all the way to chartered status within tax, auditing or accountancy. Depending on the pathway you choose, you may work as a senior accountancy trainee, a role in which you’ll brief and coach junior staff and review their work, plan projects and prepare reports, prepare financial accounts, manage information and financial statements, and advise clients on business transactions. External or internal senior audit trainees will manage audits, such as overseeing the testing of controls and checking financial records, while tax apprentices, working in personal tax, corporation tax or tax compliance, will manage the preparation of tax returns and oversee the completion of various tax forms.
