A retail supervisor is a first-line management role, with operational or project responsibilities, or responsibility for managing a team to deliver certain aims. As a retail supervisor, you’ll learn how to provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. This apprenticeship can be undertaken within public and private organisations, and across sectors, as the skills you’ll learn have broad application. The key responsibilities that you’re likely to work toward are supporting, managing and developing team members, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, resolving problems, and delivering operational plans. On completion, you may choose to register as an associate member with the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership & Management, to support your professional career development.
Duration: 12 months
Relevant school subjects: Business studies
Entry requirements: Five GCSEs at grade C or above. Equivalent qualifications or relevant experience may also be beneficial
Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels
Potential salary upon completion: £25,000 per annum
