As a unified communications troubleshooter, you’ll provide customers who can be inside or outside of the business, with a specialist technical service to set them up on unified communications systems—this includes a set of products such as telephone, instant messaging and video conferencing—and to resolve problems when they arise. This service will be delivered face-to-face, over the phone or online. You’ll learn how to install equipment and software, and handle incidents and requests for help, including providing fault diagnostics across a range of unified communications technologies in accordance with business service level agreements. Tasks will include dealing with switches and access points, line faults, and internet speed problems, deploying and updating software, and maintaining servers, including storage, print services, group policy and updates.
Duration: 24 months
Relevant school subjects: English, maths and ICT
Entry requirements: GCSEs, A-levels, a level 2 apprenticeship or other relevant qualifications, or relevant experience and/or an aptitude test with a focus on functional maths
Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree
Potential salary upon completion: £23,000 per annum
