Support businesses and individuals with tax compliance and planning
As a professional taxation technician apprentice, you’ll learn how to prepare tax returns, provide advice on tax planning, and ensure compliance with tax laws for a range of clients. You’ll work with accountants, tax advisers, and clients to manage tax liabilities effectively.
During your apprenticeship, you’ll gain skills in analysing financial information, using tax software, interpreting tax legislation, and communicating complex information clearly. You’ll also learn about VAT, corporation tax, income tax, and other taxes relevant to individuals and businesses.
You’ll need strong numeracy, attention to detail, and good communication skills. A logical approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under deadlines are essential.
With experience, you could progress to senior tax roles, specialise in areas such as corporate or international tax, or qualify as a chartered tax adviser.
