How long have you worked for AstraZeneca? What do you enjoy about your role?
“Joining the supply chain team as a sourcing associate in 2015 after my A-levels was a daunting prospect, but AstraZeneca’s supportive and friendly atmosphere soon helped me to settle in and understand my role. I enjoy cross-cultural working and direct customer interaction when negotiating contracts and delivering critical projects. I’ve been able to develop invaluable experience, increase my confidence, and challenge existing processes to suggest/implement new innovative ideas.”
Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship at AstraZeneca?
“I was eager to learn in a practical environment and gain experience working in a successful global company. Learning and working full-time is challenging, requires dedication and hard work, but the rewards and opportunities are unrivalled; studying debt-free for a degree while receiving a salary.”
How would you describe the culture at AstraZeneca?
“The culture and working environment exceeded my expectations. I was embraced as an asset to the team, and trusted to deliver business-critical projects independently while interacting with colleagues regardless of level and seniority, whose encouragement has supported my professional development.”
What would you say has been the most interesting/rewarding project you have been involved in and why?
“Since joining the Brexit readiness team, I’m an active member of the project management office, coordinating mitigation strategies for AstraZeneca. This high-profile project role has offered significant personal development opportunities and exposure to the wider organisation.”
