Matt Savage is a paint technician and Babcock Automotive Apprentice of the Year 2015
Matt is an apprentice paint technician working in Leicester. He won the prestigious title of Babcock Apprentice of the Year 2015 after competing against his peers.
Matt is a great advocate of the apprenticeship programme, having cited it as a turning point in his life. The training has given him the opportunity to apply his love of art through using paint mixing systems and painting cars, to gain a nationally recognised qualification and pursue a career that he loves.
“If anyone is going to apply for an apprenticeship programme,” said Matt, “I’d tell them to go for it because it’s changed my life. If you can get on an apprenticeship scheme it means you can train and have money in your pocket. If you put the work in, it sets you up for a better place in life.”
