“Having worked in administration for a civilian company for a couple of years I felt I wanted more from my role. A friend suggested that the RAF may be the path for me; turns out she was right! During training, I completed a level 3 apprenticeship in business administration, which took me back into the learning environment. I really enjoyed it. Having achieved my apprenticeship, I am looking to further my education through The Open University; I hope to begin studying for a degree in business administration soon.”
“My first job is at a front-line flying station, which has been great as it quickly immersed me into RAF life. Prior to joining the RAF, I played netball, so joining the station team was my next step, which is great fun and also introduced me to new friends to socialise with. I also use the well-equipped station gym, which is free and open 24/7.”
“Outside of the office, there are so many opportunities to take advantage of in the RAF. I would like to try skiing and sailing, which are both parts of the adventure training package on offer and a few of us are in the process of organising an event for charity—a 24-hour netball match is one idea. If you’re considering joining the RAF I would say do it! I’m so glad I made the move, it has expanded my horizons and there is so much on offer.”
