Manage a company’s physical assets
Physical assets are defined as an item, thing or entity that has value to a business or service, such as buildings, bridges, digital hardware, rail tracks, retail space and runways. Industries that manage physical assets include energy and utilities, manufacturing, mining, petrochemical, buildings and transport. During the asset manager apprenticeship you’ll ensure the physical assets are managed in a way to achieve the organisation’s objectives and provide an appropriate level of service. You’ll be responsible for complying with legal frameworks, including public health, health and safety, economic and environmental. You’ll work to deadlines with minimal supervision, operating within a set framework and budget.
Duration: 18 months
Relevant school subjects: Business studies and maths
Entry requirements for the asset manager apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely A-levels or equivalent qualifications or experience.
Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree
Potential salary upon completion: £35,000
