Carry out maintenance and ground handling of a range of military and civil aircraft
An aviation maintenance mechanic apprenticeship carries out maintenance and ground handling of a range of military and civil aircraft operated in the military environment, from small aeroplanes to passenger airliners, jet fighters and helicopters. The role involves specialist work, maintaining aircraft serviceability according to approved requirements and work instructions, using relevant hand tools and equipment, all in compliance with civil and military regulations. In this role, you’ll also aid aircraft maintenance fitters and technicians with specialist work, maintaining aircraft systems according to approved requirements and work instructions. You’ll recognise and be able to work safely within the airworthiness environment. All work must comply with civil and/or military regulatory and organisational requirements.

Achievement upon completion: Level 2 (Intermediate)—equivalent to GCSEs
Potential salary upon completion: £28,000 per annum
