Control technical support engineer apprenticeship

Ensure that manufacturing runs smoothly in areas such as site maintenance

During the control technical support engineer apprenticeship, you’ll work closely with other production roles in a fast-paced and cost-conscious manufacturing environment, where complex problem solving is key. Integral tasks include compliance with regulations and safety requirements; using and interpreting engineering data and documentation; and equipment installation, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance. Throughout the control and technical support engineer apprenticeship, you’ll hone your general engineering skills, along with maintenance and manufacturing principles and their applications in industry, as well as investigation and interrogation skills for software applications. On completion, you’ll achieve a bachelor’s degree in engineering. This apprenticeship was designed to meet the professional standards of the Engineering Council for initial registration as an engineering technician.

 

Duration: 60 months

Relevant school subjects: Science

Entry requirements for the control technical support engineer apprenticeship: Five GCSEs, including maths, English and a STEM subject, and A-levels in both a maths subject and a STEM subject; or equivalent qualifications

Achievement upon completion: Level 6 (Degree)—equivalent to a bachelor’s degree

Potential salary upon completion: £30,000 per annum
