As a battery manufacturing technician apprentice, you’ll play a crucial role in the process manufacturing sector, producing cells and batteries. You’ll specialise in a particular stage of manufacture, such as electrode production or cell assembly; job options include being an electrode technician, a cell assembly technician, an ageing and testing technician, and a module and pack technician. Your tasks may include mixing, coating, and sealing components, or conducting formation and testing processes. You’ll make sure that everything is produced to the highest possible standard, maintain process records, and work to production schedules and cost targets. You’ll also learn how to follow workplace health, safety, and environmental standards. Collaborating with other manufacturing team members and supporting activities like inventory control and maintenance will be part of your daily routine as a battery manufacturing technician apprentice. You might need to wear specialised protective equipment to do this job.
