During a process industry technician apprenticeship, you’ll a crucial part of the manufacturing process, ensuring the production of high-quality chemical-based products. You might be producing chemicals such as stabilised crude, ethane, methane, and hydrogen, so your work environment will be highly controlled, and you’ll be expected to follow high-level safety systems. Your responsibilities as a process industry technician apprentice will include running and maintaining processes, conducting quality assurance checks, and maintaining records. You’ll work with team members from various departments, and external partners. Your role will involve making sure you and your team are following regulations and upholding product quality and schedule. Whether working independently or as part of a team, you’ll take ownership of your tasks and ensure their accuracy and quality. Often, a process industry manufacturing technician apprenticeship will require you to work shift patterns as needed. You may need to wear specialised personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect both yourself, and the product.
