Construction design and build technician apprenticeship

Assist with essential building tasks such as building plans and designs

During the construction design and build technician apprenticeship, you’ll be helping to coordinate design information on construction projects and will be mainly based on construction sites, with occasional time in offices. Your main duties will include identification of client requirements in construction projects and of health and safety risks in the design of the projects. You’ll need to check for compliance with regulations on a construction project and ensure you minimise the environmental impact. You’ll assist architects with the development of detailed design on a construction project and commercial staff with the monitoring of costs.

 

Duration: 36 months

Relevant school subjects: DT, Science, Maths

Entry requirements for the construction design and build technician apprenticeship: Five GCSEs or equivalent, including maths, English and a science, or a level 2 apprenticeship

Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher) – equivalent to a foundation degree

Potential salary upon completion: £24,000
