Source, format and present data securely and in a relevant way for analysis

Data technicians can be found in all sectors and your main purpose will be to source, format and present data securely in a relevant way for analysis using basic methods. In your daily work, you’ll communicate outcomes appropriate to the audience; analyse structured and unstructured data to support business outcomes; blend data from multiple sources as directed and apply legal and ethical principles when manipulating data. You’ll be a good communicator, as you’ll interact with a wide range of stakeholders including colleagues, managers, customers and internal and external suppliers. During the data technician apprenticeship you’ll typically work as part of a team and will be responsible for collecting and processing data under the guidance of a senior colleague within the business.

 

Duration: 24 months

Relevant school subjects: ICT

Entry requirements for the data technician apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £25,000 per annum
