Facilitate and instigate direct communication online between the end user and the organisation
This occupation is found in areas such as the videogame industry and software providers. Digital community managers are the ‘public face’ online for an organisation, helping to communicate and support business objectives. You’ll be controlling the management of online media channels and delivering activities such as release information, updates and responding to questions from the customer community. During the digital community manager apprenticeship you’ll deliver information and ideas from the community to the organisation and will be the ‘eyes and ears’ of the organisation within the videogame community. You may be communicating to a considerable number of customers, so will need to have a responsibility to accurately represent the organisation, a mis-step or badly handled communication can have a detrimental impact on an organisation’s reputation or revenue. You may work alone within an office environment, but will interact with other departments including public relations, marketing, production and communication.
Duration: 24 months
Relevant school subjects: Art, English and ICT
Entry requirements for the digital community manager apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely A-levels or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience
Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher) – equivalent to a foundation degree
Potential salary upon completion: £27,000
