
Use online and social media platforms to design, build and implement campaigns and drive customer sales
A digital marketer uses multiple means and methods to define, design, build and implement digital campaigns across a variety of online and social media platforms to drive customer acquisition, engagement and retention. During the digital marketer apprenticeship, you’ll work as part of a team, and you’ll have responsibility for some of the straightforward elements of the overall marketing plan or campaign. You’ll work to marketing briefs and instructions, and you’ll report to a digital marketing manager, a marketing manager or an IT manager. Communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is a desire to learn about and understand search marketing, search engine optimisation, email marketing, web analytics and metrics, mobile apps, and pay-per-click advertising. This apprenticeship is recognised for entry on to the register of IT technicians. On completion, you’ll be eligible to apply to register.
Duration: 18 months
Relevant school subjects: English, maths and ICT
Entry requirements for the digital marketer apprenticeship: GCSEs, A-levels, a level 2 apprenticeship, or other relevant qualifications, relevant experience, and/or an aptitude test with a focus on functional maths. Also, a proven passion for digital and social media
Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels
Potential salary upon completion: £30,000 per annum
