Install and maintain electrical services within a domestic setting
As a domestic electrician you’ll be working in domestic properties such as homes, care homes, apartment buildings and student accommodation, as you install and maintain electrical services. You’ll learn to install or repair existing cables and equipment within the premises. During the domestic electrician apprenticeship you’ll design, install and test systems that provide traditional heating, power, and lighting, plus the installation of new and emerging technologies which could include enhanced connectivity to make homes highly efficient and near-zero-carbon. In your daily work you’ll interact with customers, area managers and building material suppliers. Once qualified you may choose to become a self-employed contractor.
