The rapid growth of internet-generated sales has created demand for a new breed of logistics professional, with the skills needed to locate and deliver goods to precise and demanding delivery specifications. As a senior manager in this technology-led, fast-paced, 24/7 world, you’ll learn skills in data analysis, management, business planning, decision-making and innovation in route planning. Typical job titles include hub manager, sortation operations manager, and delivery operations manager. Upon successful completion of the express delivery manager apprenticeship, you’ll gain all of the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become a fully competent express delivery manager. Successful apprentices will achieve a degree in express delivery management, which incorporates vocational and academic elements.
Duration: 36 months
Relevant school subjects: Geography, ICT and business studies
Entry requirements for the express delivery manager apprenticeship: A-levels, normally in a minimum of two subjects, or other level 3 qualifications; or evidence of ability to engage with degree level study and professional experience
Achievement upon completion: Level 6 (Degree)—equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
Potential salary upon completion: £45,000
