Fitted furniture design technician apprenticeship

Create initial ideas, design concepts and plans for fitted furniture interiors and create technical drawings

As a fitted furniture design technician, you will work with customers to create their perfect design for their chosen interior. You will provide innovative and creative solutions that meet the needs of your client, taking account of the use and location of the product, this can include fitted kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, car interiors, boats and ships. You may also work on bespoke one-off commercial developments such as restaurants, hotels, bars, offices, leisure and health centre projects. During the fitted furniture design technician apprenticeship you’ll create fitted furniture designs using your knowledge of industry specific legislation, with a good understanding of products and materials for interiors. You’ll manage the project from design through to completion and will be responsible for liaising directly with customers and the installation and supply teams, reporting to a supervisor manager.

 

Duration: 18 months

Relevant school subjects: DT and art

Entry requirements for the fitted furniture design technician apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £24,000
