Manage and oversee forestry operations safely and sustainably
As a Forestry Works Manager, you’ll be responsible for planning, commissioning, and supervising forestry projects across woodlands. Your focus will be on safe, legal, and environmentally responsible delivery—from timber harvesting and site maintenance to contractor coordination and public safety.
You’ll develop practical skills in tree felling and timber harvesting, ground preparation, habitat creation, and access management. You’ll also learn planting techniques, health and safety planning, risk assessment, and environmental compliance. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as you’ll manage teams and liaise with contractors, landowners, regulators, and the public.
