Support teams that carry out investment transactions on behalf of individuals or organisations
During the investment operations technician apprenticeship you’ll work within the operational and administrative areas of businesses in the financial services sector, such as banks, that engage in investment management, trading and reporting activities. With transactions in these businesses ranging in size from hundreds of pounds to hundreds of millions of pounds, the support structure underpinning them, of which you’ll be an integral part, is substantial and varied, thanks to domestic and global client bases of institutional and retail clients. As an apprentice, your work will require high standards of accuracy, proficiency and responsibility. You’ll learn about investment transaction matching, confirmation and settlement, portfolio valuation, portfolio cash reconciliation and management, corporate actions processing, preparation of internal and client investment reports, and processing significant changes to portfolios.
