Provide supporting evidence for an authority to obtain land for large developments or infrastructure projects
A land referencer can be found in a range of sectors, including transport, utilities, housing, redevelopment, retail, private and public sectors. Land referencing exercises include providing supporting evidence, documentation and information for an acquiring authority to obtain land for the purposes of a large development or infrastructure projects, such as airport expansion, railway construction and large shopping centres. Towards the end of the project, you’ll also be responsible for the production of legal notices to be distributed to affected landowners. During the land referencer apprenticeship, you’ll interact with the project team and clients involved, solicitors, land agents and government organisations. You’ll mainly work in an office with occasional site visits. Typical job titles can include land consultant and land referencing technician.

Entry requirements for the land referencer apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely A-levels or equivalent qualifications or experience.
Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree
Potential salary upon completion: £25,000
