Mechatronics maintenance technician apprenticeship

Keep advanced manufacturing equipment running through mechanical and electrical maintenance

As a mechatronics maintenance technician apprentice, you’ll learn how to maintain, repair, and improve complex machinery used in modern manufacturing and engineering environments. These machines often combine mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems—known as mechatronics.

During your apprenticeship, you’ll gain skills in diagnosing faults, replacing components, adjusting settings, and carrying out routine and emergency maintenance. You’ll work with tools, testing equipment, and digital control systems, making sure everything operates efficiently and safely.

You’ll need a methodical approach, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems is essential, along with a focus on safety and precision.

With experience, you could progress into specialist maintenance roles, engineering supervision, or automation and robotics support.
