Undertake the decoration and protection of buildings
A painter and decorator works on domestic and commercial properties and undertakes the decoration and protection of buildings. As a painter and decorator apprentice, your role will involve more than just adding colour to walls – you’ll be integral to both new construction and renovation projects. Whether it’s giving a fresh coat of paint or applying protective coatings, your job is to ensure buildings not only look good but are also durable against wear and tear. You could work on houses, schools, offices, hospitals, factories, and construction sites. Working closely with your team and site managers, your goal is to apply water-borne and/or solvent-borne paint coatings and wall coverings to achieve a top-notch finish while prioritising safety at all times. Additionally, with the world’s focus on environmental sustainability, you’ll need to consider the eco-friendly aspects of your work, like using green materials and minimising waste. By blending quality craftsmanship with eco-conscious practices, you’ll contribute to creating safer and more environmentally friendly construction projects for the future.
